Marilyn Williams
This is to provide an update on my sister, Marilyn. Last Tuesday, Marilyn had an appointment with her doctors at UNM to get the results from the CT Scan done the previous Friday. The tests show that the cancer is still growing in her stomach and pelvis lymph nodes and there is still cancer in her back. The doctor had to be honest and realistic with us and said that chemotherapy would stop because right now, its doing more harm than good to her body. She has been bleeding a lot as a result of the chemo drugs. There will be no more chemo, no radiation, nor any kind of surgery as the cancer is at stage four and too much in her body now for any kind of drugs to help kill the cancer. She will again be tested in another month and so forth to track the growth of the cancer. The doctor says there is no cure at this time with that amount of cancer. Her stomach continues to hurt, but she is getting around and being positive.
The doctor talked to us about the end and about life support and stuff, but we told him we didn't want to hear it during our visit. I guess its something that has to be put in her chart for her final wishes. Marilyn is staying optimistic and trusting God, as well as Tim and Grandma. Matt and I are upset and don't want to believe that she is as sick as she is and that God will not take her. We will stick to that thought and pray for that. There is no way I can loose my sister as we lost my father and our step brother within the last 8 years, so I don't think God can be this cruel.
Anyhow, your continued prayers for Marilyn and the boys would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
Former classmates: please keep Marilyn Williams and her family in your prayers as she continues to fight her battle with cancer. Her brother has done a tremendous job in assisting her these past couple years. Thanks.
