Phillip Dodge
This is Phillip Dodge aka Hoopa, class of 1971. I have longed to be back on the home that I knew as I went through high school at Window Rock. However jobs and such have kept me in Southern California where I live in Lakeside, a small community outside San Diego. In May of this year I lost my wife of 28 years due to complications from Diabetes. Since then I have moved on with my life and have a beautiful new wife and a six year old son who I am teaching to appreciated the ways of the Native Americans and too also respect all people no matter where they come from. I know I still have many friends out there in the country and have lost track with many of them but still remember and have told me children of my times on the reservation.
On to the reason for the request for prayers. I am due to go in for heart surgery with in the next two weeks. They have to replace a valve that has been sticking for a very long time and now it is getting worse. I am a little nervous about this but know I have others watching and keeping me safe. I come to my high school friends and family for extra prayers as I know with all the love we had in school together, I can get through this with my family and friends help. I will let everyone know how it goes after I'm home and safe.
Thank you and GO SCOUTS...

Hey Hoopa, it's good to hear from you. I too have wondered about classmates of '71 and others and I'm glad we have the wrscouts.com network to keep us connected.
I will keep you in our family prayers and hope to come to next year's reunion. It will be good to see our friends and talk about high school life.
Take care and think somersaults after your surgery.
Best wishes,
